Hey, hi, hello!

I'm Alayna, the founder/CEO/boss/owner/creator of The Social Route. Born and raised in Norfolk County (with a brief detour to North Carolina, Peterborough and St Catharines for a few years) I'm community minded and love to see local + small businesses thrive.

I've been described as someone with too many hobbies and interests like...

- Podcast junkie

- Travel bug

- Amateur baker

- Music + musical lover

- True crime everything (docs, pods, books)

- Pinot please!

- Also, Diet Coke

- Passion for supporting local

- Also, I just really love dogs. Kidnap me with a puppy.

Now that you know a little bit about me, you can read below about the nitty gritty of the WHY behind The Social Route.

Thank you for visiting my site and for taking the time to read!

Alayna

Are you even qualified? AKA Education. AKA the boring stuff:

I have a B.A.H in Cultural Studies + Media Studies from

Trent University, Post-Graduate Certificate in Event Management from Niagara College, and my Social Media Marketing Certificate from George Brown College.

I also have taken courses in Fundraising Management from Algonquin College, and completed a non-profit communications course from Mohawk College.

No, I'm not a permanent student.

I just love to learn.

Why start a social media agency?

I saw a need in the community for extra hands for the digital space. Any business owner I spoke with it was either "there aren't enough hours in the day" or "I know I keep forgetting to post"

This wasn't just one or two people, it was merely everyone I was talking to. Social media seems to always be last on the

to-do list, but sometimes putting it higher up on the priority list will provide a higher ROI.

For whatever reason, the way that social media works fascinates me. WHY do certain people click a link and others don't? Why doesn't that business have a website that you can actually read? Why are they posting different protein shakes when they run a clothing store?

Post-pandemic, the last thing anyone wants to do is post on their feeds and update websites.

I get it, fatigue is real.

Time to make a turn down The Social Route.
